Our Journey

We’ve offset the carbon footprint of our operations as part of our wider sustainability strategy

As a division of World Fuel Services, we strive to create a more environmentally and socially sustainable world through our actions, investments, and energy solutions. In 2019, we became a signatory to the United Nations (UN) Global Compact – a voluntary initiative based on CEO commitments to implement universal sustainability principles and to take steps to support UN goals.

We're taking the necessary steps to make our operations more sustainable while supporting people around the world on the same journey. So far, we have:

Developed a carbon reduction plan

We have measured our carbon footprint globally and taken the steps to set and achieve realistic carbon reduction goals, per global best-practices.

Offset our carbon emissions

We have purchased carbon offsets to compensate for our carbon footprint and the emissions related to our fleet of trucks, both for our Watson Fuels fleet in the UK and globally. We’ve been doing this since 2019, and will continue to do this each year.

Sourced renewable energy

We are currently sourcing 100% renewable power for our buildings.

Reduced our energy use

We have improved fuel economy by reducing the overall age profile of our truck fleet through newer, more fuel-efficient vehicles. We’re optimizing our delivery routes through automation tools that help serve more customers per mile travelled. This helps reduce the fuel we’re using to power our fleet. We’ve also transitioned our data centres into the cloud, to reduce the need for energy-intensive, in-house servers.
