On the evening of Tuesday 9th October, Watson Fuels presented the award for the ‘Environment and Sustainability Initiative of the Year’ at the 2019 British Construction Industry Awards to Tideway London.
The well-deserved winners of the award were chosen due to the tremendous work they did with their More by River project: the construction of a “25km Super Sewer under the Thames to intercept those nasty spills and clean up our river for the good of the city, its wildlife and you”. The aim of the tunnel is to prevent the tens of millions of tonnes of pollution that currently flow into the Thames every year and is due for completion in 2024.
The BCI Awards are the most respected awards in the built environment sector, with winning projects and teams deservedly recognised for their achievements within the industry. To sponsor the award for Environment and Sustainability, Bob Taylor – Watson Fuels Managing Director, was joined by many customers and colleagues as they celebrated the industry’s successes at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
Bob Taylor, commented: “Environmental efficiency is now at the fore of the construction sector, so it’s important to recognise key achievements in this area.”
“Watson Fuels strives to be environmentally conscious in everything it does, and it’s great to be supporting construction businesses through events like the British Construction Industry Awards, as well as through our portfolio of products.”
