COVID-19 Update: Tankscout installations and service visits to resume from 1st June 2020

We are pleased to confirm that new installations and service visits for our Tankscout fuel monitoring device will resume from Monday 1st June 2020.

All engineer appointments have been temporarily halted since the end of March, as per government guidance and in line with COVID-19 lockdown procedures. However, our partners at Kingspan Sensor have now confirmed that appointments will resume from Monday 1st June, but with some important changes to help ensure the safety of engineers and customers.

Safe working practices during Covid-19

All service visits and installations for Tankscout monitoring devices are by appointment, at pre-arranged dates and times. At the time of booking, we will ask you if you or anyone on the premises is currently self-isolating. The engineer may also ask you this question on the day of installation, when calling to confirm their ETA.

Engineers will wear gloves, face masks and overshoes while on-site at your business or property, and will dispose of this PPE after their visit.

Social distancing guidelines will be strictly observed, maintaining 2 metre distance at all times where practically possible. Engineers will look to avoid entering properties or buildings to access equipment – and the vast majority of installations at domestic homes do not require in-home access. For commercial installations where engineers are required to sign-in on site, they will immediately wash their hands before and after doing so, and will work with customers to maintain safe distancing at all times. Updated Risk Assessment documentation is available for commercial customers on request.

We’ll be working through our backlog in the coming weeks

Our scheduling team will now be working through all outstanding visits in the coming weeks, and will be in touch directly with all customers to confirm new appointments. Please bear with us – we’re working hard to help as many customers as we can, and we thank you all for your patience at this time.

No impact on service for existing devices

As previously advised, there is no interruption of device service for any existing Tankscout customers – devices that are already installed on tanks will continue to send readings as per their normal call-in schedule. Access to Tankscout.co.uk, for latest and historic tank readings, is also unaffected.

We’re still here to support our customers

Our Tankscout team remains operational, with our office-based colleagues now working from home in accordance with government guidelines. You’ll still be able to reach us between 8:30am and 5:00pm on 01666 511220 for Tankscout queries.
