Watson Fuels now holds International Sustainability and Carbon Certification

Customers purchasing Renewable Diesel through Watson Fuels now have additional assurance for sustainability claims.

Watson Fuels has achieved further accreditation to verify that all Renewable Diesel we supply meets stringent sustainability standards. It is thanks to our new International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC), one of the world’s largest schemes of its kind.

ISCC is an independent and leading certification system supporting sustainable, fully traceable, deforestation-free and climate-friendly supply chains. It provides a framework of rules that give customers confidence in the supply chain of the renewable fuels they are being supplied.

Certified as a ‘trader with storage’ through ISCC and with our Renewable Fuels Assurance Scheme verification, we can give our Renewable Diesel customers a Proof of Sustainability (POS) certification. For many of our customers, POS certification is critical in meeting compliance requirements and mitigating issues around sustainability claims. Customers who are subsidised for using sustainable fuels, for example, can provide externally verifiable and accurate evidence of each product’s sourcing.

In today’s complex supply chains, co-mingling of renewable and non-renewable fuels is a real concern for our customers. Through ISCC, we can alleviate these concerns, providing additional assurance of our Renewable Diesel’s sustainability through a full chain-of-custody audit trail.

Watson Fuels’ new ‘trader with storage’ certification provides coverage for the fuel we supply and customers we support. Our certification is recognised by the European Commission as effective in demonstrating compliance with sustainability criteria for biofuels, bioliquids, biomass fuels and advanced fuels used for transport, electricity, heating and cooling.
