We're pleased to be welcoming thousands of customers to Watson Fuels, as we retire a number of our regional sub-brands
Watson Fuels has been serving home, farm and business for over sixty years, growing from a small regional distributor in rural Wiltshire to one of the largest and most popular fuel distributors in the UK.
Since our formation in 1957, we’re proud to have welcomed a number of local brands into the Watson Fuels fold, through our acquisition of smaller distributors across the UK. Combined with the opening of our brand new depots (including our most recent venture in Grangemouth), this has helped Watson Fuels grow into the national company we are today – serving hundreds of thousands of businesses and homes across the country each year.
While we have always operated as a single business – our trading name is WFL (UK) Limited – in some cases, we maintained our local brand names and logos for our customers and partners in specific areas.
A new name…
Now, with our business continuing to grow, the time is right to Move Forwards as Watson. This April, we’re pleased to welcome customers from our Castle Liquid Fuels, Cooke North East, Hall Fuels, Hardy Craske Fuels, Keltic Fuel Oils, Linton Fuel Oils, Minster Fuels, Nigel Collison Fuels, Rutland Oil, Shelford Energy and Southdown Oil Supplies brands to Watson Fuels.
…but same commitment to seamless service
Over the next few years, you may see our tankers across the country replaced by vehicles carrying the Watson branding. In fact, we’re adding forty new tankers to our fleet in each of the next three years as part of a multi-million pound investment in our depots, operations and technology.
And what’s not changing is our commitment to quality products and outstanding service – the very same principles that Tony Watson instilled when Watson Fuels was founded in 1957.

Learn moreOur business is growing, and the time is right for that growth to be as a unified, single brand. Similarly, it can sometimes be confusing for those commercial customers who we serve across multiple locations, and who may therefore be served by multiple Watson brands. Moving Forwards as Watson gives clarity and consistency across the UK.
No. Your account number will remain the same. Although we have retained some local brands, we have always operated as a single company - as such, there is no change to our back-office system as part of this rebrand (although we are investing in technology that will enhance the experience for our customers in coming months and years).
No – there will be no change to your account manager. You will still call the same local number, and speak with the same team.
Not at all. In fact, we’re adding forty new tankers to our fleet in each of the next three years as part of a multi-million pound investment in our depots, operations and technology. And what will never change is our commitment to quality products and outstanding service – the very same principles that Tony Watson instilled when Watson Fuels was founded in 1957.
No – there is no impact at all on any existing order.
We’re proud to operate a national network of local depots. There will be no changes to this network as a result of our transition to Watson Fuels. In fact, we’ve recently expanded our network to open our first depot in Scotland to support our growth.
