• How can I place an order for more home heating oil?

  There are two ways to get a quote and place your order:

  Register and order on the myWatson app, available 24/7 365 days a year. This is available as a desktop portal or mobile app (Android and Apple).

  Call us on 0333 070 5656 (Monday – Friday 8am – 5:30pm except bank holidays).   

• How do I know the correct amount of heating oil to order?

  1. First check the label on your tank if it has one, as this will tell you your tank’s capacity in litres. Most domestic heating oil tanks hold between 1,000 and 2,700 litres. If you don’t have a label on your tank, look for the make/model number, which can help you find out the capacity. 

  2. If your tank has a gauge, it could be either a sight gauge or a float gauge. 

  A sight gauge is a transparent tube, usually on the outside of your tank. Some sight gauges require a manual ‘pull’ to provide an accurate reading.   

  A float gauge usually has a clock-like dial on the outside and uses an internal arm with a float to indicate the level of fuel in your tank. 

  Some tanks are fitted with an electronic gauge that feeds real-time fuel levels to your mobile device/laptop. These can be fitted retrospectively to help you keep on top of your fuel levels. Our Tankscout device keeps track of how much fuel you have in your tank. When your fuel drops below a level you set, Tankscout can automatically place an order for your next delivery. 

  3. It is usually best to order a quantity of fuel to fill your heating oil tank to a maximum of 90% capacity to avoid over-filling it. Most heating oil suppliers will not take orders below 500 litres.

• How quickly will my Watson Fuels heating oil arrive?

  Standard delivery is within 10 working days.

  Depending on your location, a Premium delivery option (within 5 working days) may be available for an additional fee.

  Whether you order by phone, on this website or via the myWatson app, you'll be shown the full price and delivery by date before placing your order.

  Depending on the seasonal demand, in many cases we can deliver quicker than these times.

  If you’re a Watson Fuels Monthly Payment Scheme customer, standard delivery is within five working days.*

  _{*We aim to make deliveries within 5 business days. Delivery times may be affected by events beyond our control (such as adverse weather conditions). Deliveries to areas with restricted access may take longer.} 

• How do I know when my Watson Fuels heating oil will arrive?

  When placing your order (via myWatson or over the phone), you will receive an estimated delivery date at the point of ordering.

  Once your order has been planned on our delivery system, you will receive an ‘Order Routed’ email confirming your day of delivery.

• Can I order heating oil for someone else?

  On the myWatson app, you can only order to addresses under your account. However, if you do need to order for another account (for example, an elderly relative), you can call us on 0333 070 5656 and we will undertake the necessary checks to ensure that you can order on behalf of that account going forwards.

• Do I need to be at home when the Watson Fuels driver arrives with my home heating oil?

  If your tank is accessible to our driver and unlocked, then you do not need to be at home to receive your delivery.

  If your tank is not accessible, you can either provide us with the information we need to access the tank, or you’ll need to be at home when we make the delivery.

• How can I amend or cancel my home heating oil order?

  We understand that circumstances change. If you wish to amend or cancel an order, please contact our team on 0333 070 5656. They will ask you for the account number and/or order number and will be happy to help you.

  Please note that you cannot currently use the myWatson app to amend or cancel your order.
