• I’ve moved into a house that uses heating oil. Where do I start?

• How can I place an order for more home heating oil?

  There are two simple ways to get a quote and place an order:

  1) Order online with myWatson
  Get a quote and place your order anytime through the myWatson app. Available 24/7, myWatson can be accessed via your desktop, smartphone or tablet, on both Apple and Android devices.

  2) Speak to your local team
  Get in touch with your local team, who will be happy to provide a quote and help you place your order.

• How do I know the correct amount of heating oil to order?

  To work out how much heating oil you need, you'll first need to know your tank's capacity and current fuel level.
  
  1) Check your tank's capacity
  Look for a label on your tank, which should show its capacity in litres. Most domestic heating oil tanks hold between 1,000 and 2,700 litres. If you can't find a label, the make and model number may help you identify the tank's capacity. 

  2) Check your current fuel level
  Tanks often have a gauge that shows how much oil is remaining.

  • Sight gauge - a clear tube, usually located on the outside of the tank. Some models require a manual ‘pull’ to provide an accurate reading.  

  • Float gauge - a clock-style dial that indicates the fuel level using a float inside the tank. 

  • Electronic gauge - provides real-time fuel level information via a mobile device or computer. These can be fitted retrospectively to help you keep on top of your fuel levels. Our Tankscout device tracks your fuel level for you. When your fuel falls below a level you choose, it can send an alert or automatically arrange your next order.

  Please note: To allow for fuel expansion, we recommend filling your tank to a maximum of 90% of its capacity. This helps reduce the risk of overfilling and potential spillages.

• How quickly will my Watson Fuels heating oil be delivered?

  Our standard delivery service is within 10 working days.

  Depending on your location, you may also have the option to choose Premium delivery, which aims to deliver your order within 5 working days for an additional fee.

  Whether you order by phone, through our website or via the myWatson app, you'll see the total price and expected delivery date before confirming your order.

  During quiet periods, we may be able to deliver sooner than our standard lead times.

  If you’re a Watson Fuels Monthly Payment Scheme customer, we aim to deliver within five working days.*

• How do I know when my Watson Fuels heating oil will arrive?

  When placing your order, either through the myWatson app or over the phone, you'll be given an estimated delivery date.

  Once your order has been scheduled, you'll receive an ‘Order Routed’ email confirming your delivery day.

• Can I order heating oil for someone else?

  Yes. If you need to order heating oil on behalf of someone else, such as an elderly relative or family member, please contact your local team.
  
  They will guide you through the steps required to authorise you on the account, making it easier to place orders on their behalf in the future.

• Do I need to be at home when the Watson Fuels driver arrives with my home heating oil?

  In most cases, no. If your tank is accessible, you don't need to be at home to receive the delivery.

  If access to your tank is restricted, you can either provide us with the information we need to access the tank, or you’ll need to be at home when we make the delivery.

• How can I amend or cancel my home heating oil order?

  We understand that circumstances can change. If you'd like to amend or cancel your order, please contact your local team. To help locate your order quickly, please have your account number and/or order number to hand.

  Please note that once an order has reached certain stages of the delivery process, it may not be possible to amend or cancel it. Full details can be found in our terms and conditions.
