On the evening of Wednesday 11th October, Watson Fuels presented the Environment and Sustainability Initiative of the Year Award at the 2023 British Construction Industry Awards to C-Probe Systems.
The winning entry was chosen by the judging panel due to the tremendous work C-Probe Systems did to implement an optimised approach to corrosion control and maintenance at their Omni Centre car park in Edinburgh, which significantly reduced its carbon impact. The C-Probe team are pictured receiving their award on stage at the Awards evening, held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
We’d also like to extend additional congratulations to Skanska Costain Strabag JV Railways whose electric piling rig entry was Highly Commended by the judges.
The British Construction Industry (BCIA) Awards are the most respected awards in the built environment sector, with winning projects and teams deservedly recognised for their achievements within the industry. As sponsor for Environment and Sustainability Award, Watson Fuels’ Jim Williams (Commercial Director, National Accounts) was joined at the Awards dinner by customers and colleagues to celebrate the industry’s successes.
Jim Williams commented: “Environmental efficiency is now a top priority in the construction sector, so it's important that we celebrate key achievements in this area. As part of World Kinect, Watson Fuels is committed to helping our customers reduce their carbon footprints. We're proud to support construction businesses, both through events like the British Construction Industry Awards, as well as through our portfolio of fuel, energy and sustainability solutions.”
Earlier in the day, Watson Fuels also partnered with BCI Awards organisers New Civil Engineer to host a sustainability roundtable with selected construction firms, exploring the challenges and opportunities of reducing carbon emissions on construction sites. The findings will be featured in a forthcoming issue of New Civil Engineer magazine.
